La Nymphe Cornue // The Antler Headed Nymph

This Little Nymph antler headed will be my emblem from now on.

Of all the masks, the Deer one is probably the oldest, dating back from troglodiet times. Priest of the god of flocks, the shaman was probably dressed in deer skin and wore antler during the ritual. The Horned God is found even in populations of farmers, but then, instead of being the God of Game he became the god of herds and fertility of the herds. The Celts called him Cernunnos and in the Celtic and Anglo-Saxon  mythology  there is a concept of  a God-Deer, dancer and leader of the group, personifying the ritual action of priests/ dancers, all servants of the Gods."
